I had the great pleasure to play with Clem on tour in America a few times, he used to say to me: “I love playing with you, Hugh, you let me hit the drums.”
Apparently he played triggered sample drums within a Perspex box with Blondie!
He was great to tour with, easy going, friendly, always there to help with anything, and he just loved playing drums.
He would play drums rather than do anything else in the world, apart from collecting Beatles stuff, of course.
It surely is a sad day today, and I will never forget him.
